ORLANDO – Motivair Corporation will debut it’s latest in chiller technology – the Modular Low Ambient Air Source (MHP-LA ) Heat Pump at the 2020 AHR Expo at the Orange County Convention Center from Feb. 3-5.
Attendees can learn how the MHP-LA delivers 110*F hot water at 5*F Ambient at Motivair’s booth 1789. The MHP-LA is a simple and reliable heat pump that both heats and cools buildings.
Expandable up to eight modules, the MHP-LA modules span from 18-30 tons and can be paired together to achieve a total capacity of 240 tons with single point power.
The MHP-LA, with a compact footprint, can help meet design requirements for decarbonization & electrification, allowing for increased building efficiencies. The MHP-LA range is not only best applied in geographical areas with more temperate climates such as the Pacific Northwest and Southern US, but also the Northeast and Midwest where ambient temperatures can fall to 5°F.
“A standard air-cooled heat pump is typically limited to areas that have mild winters but not cold winters. We have designed this heat pump to operate in a colder climate, expanding the geographical range where this can be used,” Motivair CEO Rich Whitmore said. “The modular function gives designers the ability to implement the solution to a broader range of buildings from a capacity standpoint in increments of their choice. And it has the added benefit of high levels of uptime with its modular design.”
