Senior Design Engineer

Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Status: Full time/Exempt
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000

Position Summary

The Senior Design Engineer will create and revise Solid Works 3D models, bills of material (BOM), 2D drawings, and various documentation for new and existing product lines.  This requires working closely with internal departments and external vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Ensures models and drawings are dimensionally accurate based on the material specifications and verify the fit-up of all related parts.

Utilizes and maintains SolidWorks PDM vault for change control management. 

Creates engineering change requests (ECR), engineering change notifications (ECN), revises BOM, work instructions, and other design documentation as required.

Supports sales, application engineering, assembly, supply chain, and customer or field service to determine the root cause and corrective actions for component/product issues.

New product development team member responsible for the design for manufacturing (DFM), customer, and service (DFS)

Provides 3D and cutaway renderings of products for marketing literature, training, and instructional documentation.

Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features, capabilities, cost, and quality.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.

10+ years designing assemblies that include sheet metal, frame structures, plumbing, and electrical components required.

Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment components required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient use of Solid Works design software

Active participant in team activities

Effectively performs assignments, often with minimal supervision

Strong problem solving/analytical skills, demonstrating ingenuity and creativity.

Customer-service oriented, providing clear, effective, and detailed communication with both internal and external customers.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products for creating tables, charts, and reports.

Commodity Buyer I

Department: Procurement
Reports To: Director, Strategic Sourcing and Logistics
Status: Full Time / Salaried
Salary Range: $51,000 - $65,000


Position Summary

This position is responsible for deploying and developing the commodity strategy for its assigned commodities. The role of the Commodity Buyer is to manage relationships / negotiation with suppliers, pilot the utilization of supplier panel in programs and series production during sourcing, and ensure supplier performance. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Responsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, and administration of subcontract purchase orders from new part production to production environment

Timely procurement and on-time delivery performance for assigned commodities/ supplier with annual spend of $8M. 

Assists with activities that support production needs impacted by vendor performance with minimal impact to inventory position. 

Provides support with negotiation of strategic agreements with vendor for stocking and pricing agreements

Ability to assess vendor performance and lead vendor improvement activities to reduce risks to production and ensure Motivair’s Terms and Conditions of Purchase are upheld. 

Assists with identifying strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.

Cultivates and maintains working relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, operations, engineering and quality.

Prepares and maintains subcontract files extensive and detailed enough to permit informed decision-making by management and successful audit.

Manages invoice to pay process by ensuring 1) Pay Terms are accurate and 2) Release of payments 3) Resolving any discrepant matters preventing payment.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or engineering preferred.

1+ years of progressive subcontracts/procurement experience or total of 5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Blueprint reading and familiarity with eDrawing viewer.

Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Experience understanding technical data.

Experience managing supplier development activities.

Demonstrate contract negotiation with savings.

Material Handling Associate

Department: Supply Chain
Reports To: Director of Strategic Sourcing
Status: Full time/hourly
Salary Range: $20 - $23/hour

Position Summary

The Material Handling Associate is accountable for tasks including receiving into the ERP system, relocation, and storage of materials, as well as the tracking of inventory and the execution of quality assessments. Material handlers employ equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to transfer materials from one storage area to another. Their duties encompass guaranteeing that materials are stored correctly, keeping precise inventory records, and scrutinizing incoming materials for any signs of damage. The role of a material handler is pivotal in ensuring the timely availability of materials and the punctual shipment of products at the prescribed quality standards.


Duties and Responsibilities 

Tags all parts correctly, verifying quantities and part numbers.

Confirming paperwork and certifications are received and information is properly stored in ERP.

Route parts to the correct location per instructions on the traveler

Verifies that all paperwork is provided (packing lists, etc.).

Adhere to shipping standards provided by the applicable Sales Director or designee.

Clarify shipment method (UPS, FedEx, LTL, Dedicated, etc.)

Carefully pack all products, adhering to any standards/requests from customer or requestor.

Must be able to provide great customer service by responding to customer / sales manager tracking inquiries and freight quote requests (via email & phone).

Processes internal parts to their next operation or storage location

Creates bin locations for incoming goods and arranges parts accordingly.

Prepares kits and deliver goods as requested by the incoming department.

Stages large items in their proper location.

Participates in cycle count process and ensuring stock adjustments are properly approved and executed in ERP.

Maintains, organizes, and cleans work area compliant with 6S Standards.

Frequently removes debris from work cells and logistics area and dispose accordingly.

Works well in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to organize and execute multiple tasks and priorities with little supervision.

Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Position Qualifications

Associates degree, preferred.

High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent required.

5+ years of shipping/receiving warehouse experience preferred.

Forklift certification preferred.

Production Planner II

Reports To: Production Planning Manager
Status: Full Time - exempt
Salary: $60,000 - $73,000.

Position Summary

A Production Planner II is responsible for maintaining the production schedules to guide production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency whilst meeting the output and timeline targets. The Production Planner II role gathers data from other departments to ensure resource availability for orders to align with delivery commitments, and is responsive to changes in flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Coordinates delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule

Coordinates/expedites manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved

Handles production disruptions and productivity problems

Finds ways to improve productivity and reduce costs

Issues and updates Production Job tickets in alignment with project plans

Evaluates raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production

Capacity analysis and requirement review

Manages MRP exception messages from ERP and communicate with appropriate personnel

Reports out metrics for key performance indicators and monitor their use

Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in business or Supply Chain related field required; Relevant job experience in lieu of degree will be considered

APICS Membership – CPIM, or CSCP Certification preferred

2+ years of experience in Production and Scheduling, or related role required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience using ERP systems such as JDE, Oracle, SAP, Acumatica or similar, and MRP

Senior Controls Engineer

Position Summary

The Senior Controls Engineer designs systems of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls for machines and equipment, utilizing knowledge of electrical engineering, PLC programming, and diagrams and schematics.  This position includes the support of the development of new products, pre-sale technical support, product application inquiries, and quality control.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Provides guidance and direction for other members of the electrical and controls engineering team.

Plans and programs logic control system for functions such as sequence, temperature, pressure, flow, voltage, current and timing.

Illustrates and describes the concept, installation and maintenance details of component functionality and system sequence of operation.

Reviews schematics with customer's representatives to answer questions during pre- and post-sale of product.

May confer with assembler and wirer to resolve problems regarding building of controls systems.

Prepares all documentation necessary for production as well as customer support. (proposals, quotes, drawings, BOM, schematics, manuals, technical instructions, etc.).

Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features and capabilities; investigates sources of special equipment, material or devices. Obtains quotes, prepares requisitions and qualifies supplier components.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, preferred.

Working knowledge of HVAC control systems

Experience with the SNMP, Modbus, and BACnet communication protocols.

Proficient with graphical based PLC programming and the ST (Structured Text) language per IEC Standard 61131. 

Knowledge of Restful Application Programing Interfaces, preferred.

10+ years of position related experience required.

Experience with liquid- and air-cooling systems for commercial buildings and datacenter systems a plus.

Assembly Technician – Level 2

Status: Full Time, non-exempt
Salary: $25.00 - $30.00.

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician – Level 2 will be responsible for assembling electro-mechanical components and products according to engineering drawings and specifications. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as measuring instruments to ensure that the products meet all quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, following all safety procedures and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.

Assemble electro-mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools and power tools.

Perform quality control checks on assembled components.

Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.

Perform preliminary and / or final packaging of components and final products.

Maintain a clean and organized work area compliant with 6S standards.

Follow all safety procedures.

Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as required.

Position Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Technical certificate / degree preferred.

2-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly.

The Assembly Technician – Level 3 will be responsible for assembling and testing electro–mechanical components and products according to engineering drawings and specifications and conduct functional tests and performance checks to ensure proper operation and functionality.  Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions through troubleshooting techniques.  You will use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as measuring instruments to ensure that the products meet all quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, following all safety procedures and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
