Design Engineer

TYPE: Full Time, Exempt

SUMMARY: 
The Design Engineer will create and revise Solid Works 3D models, bills of material (BOM), 2D drawings, and various documentation for new and existing product lines. This requires working closely with internal departments and external vendors.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure models and drawings are dimensionally accurate based on the material specifications and verify the fit-up of all related parts
  • Utilize and maintain SolidWorks PDM vault for change control management
  • Create engineering change orders (ECR), engineering change notifications (ECN), revise BOM, work instructions, and other design documentation as required
  • Support sales, application engineering, assembly, supply chain service, and customer or field service to determine the root cause and corrective actions for component/product issues
  • New product development team member responsible for the design for manufacturing (DFM), customer, and service (DFS) Provide 3D and cutaway renderings of products for marketing literature, training, and instructional documentation
  • Work with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features, capabilities, cost, and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

  • BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology a plus, not required


EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3‐5 years designing assemblies that include sheet metal, frame structures, plumbing, and electrical components
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment components


SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in Solid Works design software
  • Active participant in team activities
  • Effectively performs assignments, often with minimal supervision
  • Must be customer-service oriented providing clear, effective, and detailed communication with both internal and external customers
  • Must have good mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office for creating tables, charts, and reports


OVERTIME / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Overtime (OT) will be required from time to time for short-term or long-term duration, as business needs mandate.  Travel may be required by any mode of transportation as determined by company for business reasons such as, but not limited to, project site visits, skill development or training.

JOB TITLE: Service Team Specialist

TYPE: Full Time, Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Service Team Specialist provides technical and administrative support for ALL Motivair supported products, providing startup assistance, commissioning assistance, onsite technician support, end user support, onsite and in house training.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides remote Technical Support to Installers and Field Support personnel. Some travel required.
  • Performs in-house testing and troubleshooting and programming of hardware (VFD, Controllers etc.).
  • Maintains service documentation by creating support customer cases, reporting and by issuing customer return materials authorizations (RMA). Creates non-conformance candidates (NC) and documents opportunities for improvement (OFI).
  • Provides research and reports on customer system Warranty statuses.
  • Performs technical writing to establish documentation for customers.
  • Creates and improves training documentation, video content, how to manuals/guides.
  • Provides parts quotes, vendor requests, parts documentation, and identifies replacement parts for discontinued materials.
  • Supports administratively the other positions within the services team.
  • Responds to critical escalations received from sales, Motivair leadership and/or customers.
  • Stays abreast of team Caseload to ensure regular progress to resolve customer issues.
  • Supports the successful delivery of in house Training Services.
  • Represents service department in cross-functional process improvement initiatives.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 5 or more years of commercial field service and/or installation experience in a technical environment is required.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of HVAC/R, hardware, and/or Hydronic Systems; or a combination of education and experience to perform successfully in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Capable of demonstrating/applying exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to read basic product drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills and sound technical judgment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong documentation skills are required for effective communications within our support tools, producing reports, filing non-conformance candidates (NC) and opportunities for improvement (OFI).
  • Availability to work extended hours, if applicable, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Ability to travel for multiple days on occasion with little notice.
  • Ability to pass customer-specific background check processes, if applicable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of working in the field at Customer facilities standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, etc. Travel may be required with very little notice on rare occasions. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times in the field and able to lift up to 25 pounds at times in the office.

POSITION DETAILS:

The Sales Manager position is responsible for growing the company’s sales in the Process Cooling, Data Center and  HVAC industries by working with existing and new customers, and distributors to solve their most demanding cooling challenges that are critical to their business operations by developing relationships with project stakeholders, specifically C-Suite executives, Finance leaders and Operation managers. The Sales manager will utilize one or a combination of products in the Motivair portfolio including a broad range of HVAC chiller products, pump stations, and other customized products to provide customers in the data center, food processing, healthcare, industrial and manufacturing market with unique solutions to meet their specific needs. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide overall account management to existing customers within a defined set of strategic accounts.

Penetrating the customer’s management hierarchy to develop relationships at the highest levels of the organization.

Identifying client needs and working with the Motivair application engineering group to develop a solution.

Prospecting new customers


Utilizing market research and sales training methods to effectively target prospects

Evaluating and determining sales opportunities using technology-based solutions such as CRM software.

Preparing professional business reviews, value added presentations and technical solution proposals to customer executives.

Coordinate with Customer Service team to investigate and resolve customer issues. 

Educating customers and consulting engineers on specific product advantages to customer business outcomes and technical specifications.

Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiating and active-listening skills 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

Bachelor’s Degree

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven track record of success in sales and exceeding targets

Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

Must have and maintain a valid driver license with a driving record that meets Company minimum standards. 

Must have and maintain automobile insurance. 

Computer literacy that includes experience with the use of CRM software (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Acumatica) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, engineering degree a plus.  Minimum of 5 years of sales experience or an equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment giving you the ability to transition between your remote workplace and Motivair’s modern corporate headquarters in Lancaster, New York. Depending on the location of assigned strategic accounts and customers, the Sales Manager will travel to those sites, primarily inside North America but occasionally to EMEA and APAC. Total travel is expected to be approximately 30% overnight travel.
