Quality Assurance Systems Manager

Department: Quality
Reports To: Director of Operations
Status: Full Time - exempt
Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000.

Position Summary

As the Motivair Quality Assurance Systems Manager you will lead the strategic direction and planning of Corporate Quality and oversee quality standards to ensure the company delivers the highest quality products and services.  Duties include oversight of all Product quality, data analysis, managing product testing and monitoring all quality factors including the Quality Management System (QMS).  This position has the responsibility and authority to recommend changes, identify and record any problems relating to product, process, or the Quality Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Manages and directs activities of the Product Quality function and team.

Establish and implement quality standards for New Product Development (NPD).

Monitor product quality testing and identify gaps in the testing.

Staying current on regulations to ensure compliance.

Responsible for the Quality Management System (QMS); knowledgeable in all areas of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and maintains ISO compliance to the current 2015 standard.

Training other employees on product / process quality procedures.

Handling quality reports and documentation.

Collecting and analyzing quality data.

Responsible for all external (customer / regulatory) and internal audits. 

Working with supply chain dept. to ensure the quality of materials and services.

Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all quality activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully addressed.

Acts as a liaison between Motivair Sales / Service and its customers; responds to quality issues, gathering facts and providing problem resolution.

Performs additional tasks / projects as assigned by the Director of Operations.

Position Qualifications

B.S. in Engineering or Technology from an accredited institution preferred.

3-5 years Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational, communication, leadership, performance management, continuous improvement, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards required.

Experience in problem solving techniques; Root Cause – 5 Why, FMEA, APQP.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and/or external sources. 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, MSFT Dynamics, Acumatica.

Ability for limited travel when necessary. Expected travel less than 5%.

Experience in a mid to high volume electronic product environment a plus. 

Lean/Six-sigma Green or Black Belt a plus.

Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)

While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly sit for long periods; stand talk and hear in person and by telephone; and use hands to operate, finger, handle and feel office equipment and documentation; and reach with hands and arms. Hands and fingers frequently perform repetitive motion. Occasionally the employee will use arms and hands to balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop or bend and lift up to 25 pounds.  This position requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Senior Design Engineer

Department: Engineering
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Status: Full time/Exempt
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000

Position Summary

The Senior Design Engineer will create and revise Solid Works 3D models, bills of material (BOM), 2D drawings, and various documentation for new and existing product lines.  This requires working closely with internal departments and external vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Ensures models and drawings are dimensionally accurate based on the material specifications and verify the fit-up of all related parts.

Utilizes and maintains SolidWorks PDM vault for change control management. 

Creates engineering change requests (ECR), engineering change notifications (ECN), revises BOM, work instructions, and other design documentation as required.

Supports sales, application engineering, assembly, supply chain, and customer or field service to determine the root cause and corrective actions for component/product issues.

New product development team member responsible for the design for manufacturing (DFM), customer, and service (DFS)

Provides 3D and cutaway renderings of products for marketing literature, training, and instructional documentation.

Works with suppliers and outside engineering consultants to resolve technical and supply issues, improve system features, capabilities, cost, and quality.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology required.

10+ years designing assemblies that include sheet metal, frame structures, plumbing, and electrical components required.

Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment components required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient use of Solid Works design software

Active participant in team activities

Effectively performs assignments, often with minimal supervision

Strong problem solving/analytical skills, demonstrating ingenuity and creativity.

Customer-service oriented, providing clear, effective, and detailed communication with both internal and external customers.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products for creating tables, charts, and reports.

Office environment working primarily at a desk on a computer.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
