Motivair MLC chillers offer cooling capacities from 60–350 nominal tons at standard rated conditions. These chillers are available in air-cooled, water-cooled and split systems configurations and come standard with two refrigeration screw compressors built in two independent refrigeration circuits.

What makes the MLC chillers unique is the long list of available options. Each MLC chiller can be designed to have its own pump system, either simplex or duplex, its own built in storage reservoir, and a choice of PLC control platforms including LON, Bacnet and Ethernet. Engineers and customers also have a choice of refrigerants. While R-22 will remain the standard until 2011, customers who require eco-friendly refrigerants can select from R-407C, R-134A, R-404A, R-507 and in the future, R-410A.

The MLC range can also be fitted with an "Integrated Free Cooling" system up to 230 tons. Once a chiller carries the Free Cooling package, its name carries the "FC" badge at the end. This system, unique to Motivair, allows for the chiller to cycle off its refrigeration system during cooler seasonal weather. By using the cold ambient air, the MLC-FC chillers can cool 100% of the system load by using the minimal amount of energy. This system is ideal for year round critical cooling loads in both the commercial and industrial sectors.
