Mist Eliminator filters from Motivair are designed for large capacity, compressed air filtration applications, where long element life and low pressure-drop are required. Mist Eliminators cover a capacity range from 125 through 20,000 scfm. Standard rating conditions are 100 psig and 100°F. Higher or lower operating pressures are available.
ASME carbon steel housings are internally epoxy coated and finished in industrial enamel. The elements are deep, woven beds of micro-fibers, supported in carbon steel cages. Stainless steel construction is also available.
The combination of large face area and deep bed filtration provides excellent oil coalescing capability to 99.98% at 0.1 micron, combined with 99.99% particulate filtration to 1 micron. Typical element life is 5-10 years, at a pressure drop of 3.0 psi. Clean element pressure drop is typically 0.5 psi.
It is important to note that filter pressure drop is a major operating cost component of compressed air systems. At 100 psig, every 2.0 psi in pressure-drop represents approximately 1% of the air compressor horsepower. A 1,000 HP compressor generates approximately 5,000 scfm of compressed air at 100 psig. At 8c/kW/h, a 10 psi pressure drop = 1,000 x 0.05 x 24 x 365 x 0.08 = $35,000 per year in wasted energy.
Motivair Mist Eliminators are supplied with optional auto-drains and calibrated pressure differential indicators.
